The Turkish DTH platform Digitürk has secured the broadcasting rights to the Türkcell Super Lig Media football league until the end of the 2013-14 season.
In bidding $321 million (€221.3 million) for the ‘A’ package’ which includes the rights for at least four live matches, it beat off competition from Türk Telekom. Digitürk is part of the Çukurova Group.
Launched in 2000, it has 2.5 million subscribers to its multichannel subscription packages and pay-per-view content.
Digitürk has held the exclusive rights to Türkcell Super Lig Media since 2001 and broadcasts seven games at week.
Subscribers to DigitürkPlus are offered games in HD quality.
