Boost for Slovak DTT

Slovakia’s recently-launch DTT platform may soon be boosted by the inclusion of TV Markiza to its channel line-up.

Quoted in Medialne, Michal Suran, the marketing manager of the platform’s operator Towercom, said that CME-owned TV Markiza is already one of its main customers. Following the enactment of necessary legislation, the make-up of the first multiplex would be amended in order to give it carriage.

Slovakia’s first multiplex launched last month with five channels – STV1, STV 2, Trojka, Joj and Joj Plus.

Separately, Towercom has released a statement conceding it has received complaints about DTT reception in the city of Presov.

It added that it is addressing these by temporarily broadcasting to the city and environs from a new site.
