Howard Litton, senior VP and MD of Nickelodeon UK, is to leave the broadcaster after 15 years. A statement from MTV Networks International said Litton would “pursue personal projects and new opportunities in international media”.
Since joining Nickelodeon in 1995, Litton has masterminded the broadcasters transition from a single channel operation through to a bouquet of six digital services. The channel has won 15 BAFTAs and was most recently awarded the 2009 BAFTA Children’s Channel of the Year for Nick Jr.
Litton has championed some UK’s most acclaimed children’s series of recent years including Fifi and the Flowertots, Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.
Steve Grieder, EVP, Nickelodeon International & Programme Sales for MTV Networks International will oversee day-to-day operations of Nickelodeon UK (a BSkyB and MTV Networks joint venture) until a replacement is found.
