Viva Polska was the most financially successful thematic channel in Poland in 2009.
According to data produced by TNS OBOP and published by Wirtualne Media, its revenues amounted to PLN382,261,320 (€382,261,320), or 148.3% more than in 2008. Second placed AXN earned PLN363,508,010, a more modest 29.1% more than a year earlier.
Overall, TVN secured the highest revenues amongst Polish TV channels, its total of PLN2,853,981,082 being 0.6% higher than in 2008.
Polsat was in second place with PLN2,634,718,673 (-0.4%), while both TVP1 with PLN1,773,609,312 (+19.9%) and TVP2 with PLN1,148,847,262 (+18.7%) posted impressive year-on-year gains.
