WATCH VIDEO: The BBC has added a festive version of its current on-air campaign for the BBC iPlayer, featuring Father Christmas himself and a seasonal tagline, BBC iPlayer – Making Christmas UnChrismissible!
Mr Christmas, whose increasing media appearances help fund his annual exercise in philanthropy, is seen returning from his deliveries and watching a selection box of the BBC’s festive output.
It follows the three recent promotions that have featured stars of popular BBC programmes Strictly Come Dancing, The Restaurant and Holby City interacting with viewers watching the iPlayer.
“Our recent strategy has been to demonstrate how easy it is to use BBC iPlayer to watch your favourite BBC programmes at a time that suits you,” said Simon Lloyd, Director of Marketing for BBC Future Media and Technology. “There’s more to BBC iPlayer than just catching up on the last seven days, it’s about watching great programming at your convenience, and we’ll continue to drive this message into the new year.”
The promotion runs from the 27 December through until December 31.
