Sky Italia has launched a new Push VOD service for customers with the My Sky and My Sky HD receivers. Based on the UK’s Sky Anytime, ‘Sky Selection’ will offer subscribers around 150 titles per month, refreshed at the rate of five a day.
Content will be drawn from films, TV series, sports features, documentaries and children’s shows. They will be stored on the partition of the personal video recorder reserved for the satcaster.
Initial titles include Oscar-winner The Millionaire, Twilight and Madagascar 2. HD content is included and Sky Selection titles can also be saved to the customer’s own area of the hard disk.
The launch comes ahead of the rival Premium on Demand, scheduled to be launched by rival Mediaset early next year.
