UPC Nederland has launched a new VOD service with programming from the two Universal Networks International channels Sci-Fi and 13th Street.
Programmes are available to all UPC basic digital subscribers and include 13th Street series such as Dexter, Sleeper Cell, The Wire and the police drama Flashpoint. Sci-Fi series available include Star Trek Enterprise, Sanctuary, Primeval and Doctor Who.
The move follows an earlier agreement with Ziggo, which launched the VOD service a few weeks ago. Talks are under way with other platforms in The Netherlands to add the UNI titles.
John Burnett, director of Universal Networks International Benelux, said in a statement: “We are delighted that with our new On Demand service can enhance the viewing pleasure of our existing Sci-Fi and 13th Street subscribers and to allow themselves to decide when they want to watch.”
