UPC has for the first time ever launched a tender for programme vendors in the Czech Republic.
According to HN, the company has sent around three dozen mostly smaller and regional TV operators the tender specifications.
The winner will be chosen on the basis of a number of factors including the relevance of its programme and size of bid. Unlike some services already carried by UPC, it will have to pay for carriage.
UPC’s digital cable TV service in the Czech Republic currently offers around 90 channels, while the DTH platform UPC Direct carries up to 150.
