The German technical institute of the public broadcasters IRT in Munich has transmitted a standards compliant DVB-T2 test signal on UHF channel 43 since early this month.
The institute has said the effective radiated power is 1kW and provides a radius of about 5km from the transmitter in Munich-Freimann technical investigations in terms of mobility, robustness and data rate management.
In addition, the IRT examines various practicable parameter settings for a coverage in both indoor and outdoor events. Even narrow-band configurations, as intended, for example, the transmission of radio signals, can be tested.
The current modulation is 256 QAM, the guard interval is 1/128 at a code rate of 5/6 and an k FFT.
