Channel 4 is to launch its second high definition channel on the Sky HD platform before Christmas.
E4 HD will take the number of HD channels available through Sky to 36. The channel will be available on channel 215 of the Sky EPG in the UK and Ireland.
“The growing appetite for HD across the UK and Ireland is clear to see. We were quick to respond to this demand in launching Channel 4 HD, and with the launch of E4 HD we look forward to delivering our viewers even more of the shows they love in stunning high definition,” said Sarah Rose, Head of Channel Development at Channel 4.
The launch comes as Freeview HD gets underway in the North West and London. Channel 4 will join the DVB-T2 platform in the spring, but the youth-skewing E4 will initially be exclusive to Sky.
