More than 70% of cable subscribers in the Czech Republic are now able to receive digital TV and around 90% of households can access digital cable services.
Furthermore, according to data provided by the Czech Association of Electronic Communications (CAEK) and published in Parabola, the country is likely to end this year with around 1.05 million cable homes, or 80,000 more than a year earlier.
Commenting on figures, CAEK president Zdenek Vanicek said they were based on hard data from 100 cable companies and two professional associations.
The CAEK also noted that digital cable broadcasting got under way in earnest in the Czech Republic in 2006. Cable-delivered HD services meanwhile have been available since 2008, though were first trialled two years earlier.
