Holland’s largest cable operator Ziggo has added the catch-up TV service RTL Gemist to its interactive platform. Programmes from RTL4, RTL5, RTL7 and RTL8 can be requested up to ten days after their original broadcast.
Ziggo is the second cable operator to take the service after UPC started two weeks ago. Subscribers to the Ziggo Net Gemist package at €4.95 a month have unlimited access to the RTL programmes. Content from the Dutch public broadcasters (Uitzending Gemist) is also part of the subscription.
UPC has a different model: news programmes from RTL are available at no charge as part of the digital subscription, but drama and entertainment programming are charged at €0.49 per request.
