The Austrian public broadcaster ORF will launch its newly designed and refreshed online web TV portal, ORF-TVthek next Monday (November 16). It will offer a wider choice of on-demand programming.
The number of available programmes will be expanded from just 20 to over 70, with the aim of increasing the number of available programmes in the near future. Only programmes produced by the broadcaster itself and co-productions will be available with the emphasis on news, sports, regional isues, documentaries, magazines and more.
The portal will also give access to occasional live streaming programmes including the coverage of sports events.
The ORF-TVthek will be available worldwide except for programmes for which the broadcaster has no web TV rights outside the country.
