FetchTV SmartBoxes are to be made available in branches of Carphone Warehouse after an agreement between the IP Vision’s broadband TV service and the retail chain.
The Fetch TV SmartBox, which combines a Freeview+ DTT personal video recorder with its own on demand service, will be distributed in Carphone Warehouse’s Digital Lifestyle stores. It is IP Vision’s second high-profile retail contract after the announcement of a deal with the John Lewis partnership in July this year.
Eddie Abrams CEO of IP Vision said Carphone Warehouse’s Digital Lifestyle stores represented a great fit for the product. “With the development of services like Canvas we know that content delivered via broadband will become more commonplace over the next few years. I am proud that we are able to lead the way and be the first to market with this technology.”
Last month FetchTV announced it had agreed to distribute content from Sky Digital and already provides access to the BBC iPlayer and selected video from Channel 4, Discovery Channel and CNN.
