DTT boost for Hungary

antenna-hungaria-hqSales of DVB-T MPEG-4 compatible reception equipment in Hungary were 50% higher in September than in the previous month.

This, according to Antenna Hungária, the operator of the DTT platform MinDig TV, was in part due to an 8% reduction in the cost of equipment, which includes set-top boxes, integrated TVs, PCI and USB cards and sticks.

As things stand, some 4% of Hungarian homes will have DTT receivers installed by the end of the year, when digital terrestrial coverage in the country should reach 88% of households.
