Hungary hit by DTT row

A major row has broken out in Hungary over the country’s transition to digital broadcasting. It has seen the National Communications Authority (NHH) fine Antenna Hungária, the operator of the DTT platform MinDigTV, HUF40 million (€151,460) for failing to meet its commitments in the process.

Antenna Hungária has refused to accept NHH’s criticism and sanctions and said it will contest them in court.

It will also officially request the NHH and Competition Office to launch an investigation into distortions in competition between TV delivery platforms in Hungary.
