The French media regulator CSA has given the green light for a take over of the channels NT1 and TMC by the country’s largest broadcaster TF1.
The broadcaster will acquire all of the shares in the terrestrial channel NT1. At the same time, TF1 will secure the remaining 80% in TMC it does not yet own from Monte-Carlo Participations.
The CSA blessing comes with a number of conditions to guarantee competition between the terrestrial broadcasters, in particular with regards to the selling of commercial airtime and the acquisition of broadcast rights.
