Digiturk running Push VOD

IBC 2009 – Amsterdam. Irdeto has given details on the push VOD service launched on the Digiturk platform with OpenTV, Pace and TeleIDEA.

Digiturk launched its HD PVR in January 2008 and the satcaster has subsequently signed 45,000 subscribers across Turkey. The system combines a triple tuner receiver manufactured by Pace and featuring the Irdeto conditional access. The PVR itself runs on OpenTV’s Core 2/PVR technology featuring the TeleIDEA Electronic Program Guide.

Subscribers can select, download and store feature films and television shows directly onto the set-top box hard drive.

Digiturk has a total of 2.3 million subscribers; it offers a mix of local and US content including HD coverage of Turkcell Super League football.
