The Polish new generation DTH platform n is significantly boosting its HD offer.
In a wide-ranging press conference about its strategy, it was announced that two new proprietary film channels – nFilmHD and nFilmHD2 – made their debuts yesterday (September 2).
They are accompanied by a new on demand service named nFilmHD VOD and will be headed by the well-known Polish film critic Tomasz Raczek. N has also added Nat Geo Wild to its offer, with Animal Planet HD set to follow on September 9.
As of next week, 14 of the 82 channels offered by n will be in HD. N will also introduce a new HD recorder this autumn. Given the working name Turbo dekoder HD, it will feature a 500GB hard disk and give access to multiroom, VOD, YouTube and various games.
All n HD decoders, including Turbo dekoder HD, will also provide access to the full DTT offer available in Poland.
N had 557,000 subscribers as of the end of June, of whom 554,000 were active, and expects the number to rise to 848,000 next year.
ARPU in June stood at PLN58 (€13.9).
