IFA 2009 – BERLIN. Eutelsat Kabelkiosk will show hybrid receivers with web access at this year’s consumer electronics show in Berlin. Viewers will be able to request clips and programmes on demand on an interactive Kabelkiosk portal.
Based on the CE-HTML standard, the showcase will feature programming from Kabelkiosk programme partners including MTV, The Biography Channel and SciFi, as well as its own Kabelkiosk Info Channel, which may be requested on the web and viewed on a regular TV set.
Eutelsat will also present a new line-up of channels of the Kabelkiosk FamilyXL package package that now includes Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and auto motor und sport.
The satellite operator will also showcase its Tooway broadband-via-satellite system, which is now commercially available.
Recently, Eutelsat announced cooperation with the governments of the states of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
