P&TLuxembourg is to expand its 80-channel IPTV service with the launch of linear HD channels.
The telco is deploying ATEME’s Kyrion AM2101 encoder on the MPEG-4 transmissions that are expected to commence later this year.
“P&TLuxembourg is committed to producing exceptional programming and building the highest quality infrastructure to support delivery of content,” said Jean-Marie Spaus, director of the telecom division at P&TLuxembourg. “ATEME’s Video head end architecture with Kyrion HDTV H.264 encoders solution has met our stringent standards for quality and performance, enabling us to provide our viewers with a very compelling HD viewing experience.”
The technology is backed up by ATEME DR8100 Integrated Receiver Decoders and the Skyline Dataminer Open Network Management System.
P&TLuxembourg launched its IPTV service in the spring of 2008.
