DTG Testing will next month integrate the Mirifice MiriATE automation system into its testing process. The test and conformance wing of the Digital TV Group is responsible for the Digital Tick certification mark in the UK as well as the Freeview, Freeview+, Freesat, Freesat+, Freeview New Zealand logos and the upcoming Freeview HD service.
“DTG Testing is committed to continually enhancing the service we offer to manufacturers.” said Richard Lindsay-Davies, Director General of the DTG. “The introduction of automation to our test regimes will reduce the time taken to test products and provide a more controlled testing environment, ensuring even greater consistency of test results.”
The introduction of MiriATE will align DTG Testing with the requirements of ISO17025, the main standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. It will initially be used for MHEG testing and is able to automatically interpret a receiver’s video and audio output. It is capable of testing up to 96 receivers in parallel 24 hours a day.
