The Polish DTH platform n ended Q2 with 557,000 subscribers, or over twice the 325,000 it had in the corresponding period in 2008.
The sister service TNK, Poland’s first and to date only pre-pay DTH platform, meanwhile had 233,000 customers at the end of Q2.
Platform n’s ARPU in Q2 stood at PLN58 (€13.9), or PLN10 more than in the same quarter in 2008.
Although revenues for n rose by 109% year-on-year in Q2 to PLN109 million, its parent company TVN performed less well, seeing its profit fall by 32% year-on-year in Q2 to PLN142million.
TVN’s ad sales revenues have been hard hid, being 17% lower in Q2 2009 than a year earlier.
