Finland’s largest cable operator Welho closed the first half with 324,000 subscribers, just 3,000 more than at the end of June 2008.
Pay-TV subscriptions also held steady, losing 1,000, to close on 67,000. Broadband internet performed the best, adding another 8,000 subscribers year-on-year, to reach 110,000.
Sister company Nelonen Media increased its market share from 29.8% to 33.5% on the back of new channel launches including a lifestyle network that gained capacity on the terrestrial network.
In June, Nelonen Media launched a new web TV service, Ruutu.fi, which offers a free catch-up TV service, podcasts and additional features.
