The Czech Regional TV Agency (RTA) intends to start broadcasting on a DTT multiplex within a year, according to its head, Jaroslav Berka.
He was quoted in HN following the award of a ‘compensatory’ licence by the Czech Radio and TV Council (RRTV).
RTA was one of six companies that originally received digital TV licences, only to have them withdrawn following protests led by TV Nova, the Czech Republic’s leading broadcaster.
Amendments to the media law were subsequently implemented, with the six companies being able to apply for such ‘compensatory’ licences.
EBD, a subsidiary of RTA, already operates a channel named TV7.
