Wednesday update: Thomson has commenced deliveries of a new version of its hybrid set-top for Orange France.
The hybrid ADSL-DTT unit supports high definition transmissions as well as providing access to Orange Television’s catch-up TV service and video-on demand library.
Frédéric Rose, Chairman and CEO of Thomson, said the product had been specially tailored to the needs of its client. “Orange is a long-time customer, to whom we have been supplying set-top boxes and other devices for many years. We are pleased to launch this innovative device which combines high definition quality, interactivity and on demand services, allowing Orange to propose an attractive offer to end-users.”
Thomson has also announced the supply of home networking equipment to the French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom and advanced cable gateways to the US cablenet Comcast.
