Romkatel and France’s TDF have signed up for a DTT services tender being organised by Romania’s National Society for Radiocommunications (SNR).
Media Expres reports that the contract is worth an estimated €833,000 and will be valid for a period of 12 months following its award.
SNR operates two analogue networks that are used to relay the public channels TVR1 and 2. Switching them to digital will cost around €50-60 million and allow the first of these networks to be used exclusively by publicly owned TVR and second by commercial TV services.
Romkatel is the exclusive representative of Kathrein in Romania.
