The German headend-in-the-sky service Eutelsat Kabelkiosk completed the switchover to the Eurobird 9A satellite at 9 degrees East this week in order to serve more than 250 business partners.
At the same time, the Kabelkiosk feeds on Eutelsat at 8 degrees West were terminated. During the past few months, thousands of cable headends from the small to medium sized cable nets that Kabelkiosk serves were realigned to the new position.
“We can now continue our growth strategy,” said Martine Rutenbeck, CEO of the Eutelsat visAVision GmbH. On the Eurobid 9A satellite, Kabelkiosk can profit from the 38 available transponders, as compared with the 20 transponders on the old position.
At the moment, Kabelkiosk offers more than 120 channels, but plans to increase the offer with HD channels and VOD services.
