Swiss VTX Telecom launches IPTV

The Swiss telecom operator VTX Telecom has launched an IPTV service offering over 100 channels in the cities of Basel and Puly, near Lausanne.
During a test phase, which will last until the end of the year, the service will be offered free of charge to its customers. It is intended for all ADSL2+ customers, who will receive a VTX IPTV set-top box.
The IPTV service is offered in conjunction with Sierre Energie, a power company that has been operting its own IPTV service for some time.
VTX Telecom is an independent telecom operator serving some 100,000 customers, of which 25,000 are businesses and the remainder households.
