Russia’s Tricolor TV has secured its 5 millionth subscriber and is now by far the largest DTH platform in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
It is also one of the fastest growing on the continent as a whole.
Satkurier reports that the platform reached its latest landmark between June 16-19 and points out that if present trends continue it will have 10 times as many subscribers as NTV-Plus, the longest established platform in both Russia and CEE, by the end of the year.
However, Tricolor TV’s customer base is mostly regional, while NTV-Plus’s is focused on large cities, including Moscow and St Petersburg.
