Discovery Networks EMEA has promoted Michael Grubinger to become VP channels Nordic.
Grubinger will move from his current position as channel director at Discovery Networks Germany in August and will be based in Copenhagen. He will have responsibility for channel managers in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland and report to Jan Andreassen, general manager, Discovery Networks Nordic.
“Michael’s significant industry experience, coupled with strong leadership skills means that he has made a much valued contribution to our business, especially in the development and success of our German free-to-air channel, DMAX,” commented Arthur Bastings, executive VP and general manager, Discovery Networks EMEA.
Grubinger joined Discovery Networks, Germany in 2006 as channel director of its free-to-air operations. He was promoted in January 2008 to manage the direction of all German channels, including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Geschichte (History) and Discovery HD, as well as the free-to-air channel, DMAX.
