Rural areas in the German state of Brandenburg will have broadband connections using the Eutelsat Tooway system.
The satellite operator has signed an agreement with the German state to provide services supporting Brandenburg’s Broadband Supply for Rural Areas programme.
The programme’s goal is to bridge the digital divide in the German state, which has a population of around 2.5 million. Using Tooway, this goal can be reached by the end of this year.
In collaboration with service providers, Eutelsat will provide its Tooway satellite broadband service to all interested households and small companies for a monthly subscription fee of €39.95, including the reception and uplink equipment.
There will be a minimum contract of 24 months for this price.
