Arris has announced the appointment of James Chiddix to its board of directors, with effect from July 1.
The former chief technology officer at Time Warner Cable and President of the Time Warner Interactive Video Group is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of San Francisco based OpenTV Corporation and serves on the boards of directors of Virgin Media, Dycom Industries and Symmetricom, Inc.

Chiddix was a contributor to the development of the DOCSIS cable modem standard and had oversight of Time Warner’s development of digital television and video-on-demand services.
