The Swiss cable operator Cablecom has begun to roll out its ‘Fiber Power’ 100 Mbps broadband access service to the majority of its customers.
The Liberty Global owned company has introduced the high-speed broadband service after similar rollouts on UPC networks in The Netherlands, Austria and other countries.
The operator said in a statement that at the moment over 1 million households have access to an upgraded network allowing for DOCSIS 3.0 broadband access, as well as other services including HD television, interactive functionalities and VOD.
Cablecom plans to upgrade the remaining 300,000 cable connections by the end of next year.
