The Hungarian incumbent telco Magyar Telekom has launched a joint IPTV service with its wholesale partners.
Under the terms of an agreement between the partners, partner ISPs will be able to provide advanced IPTV services to their subscribers jointly with Magyar Telekom but employing their own brand.
Magyar Telekom entered the Hungarian IPTV market with a service named T-Home TV in late 2006. Following a slow start, it had 37,500 subscribers as of the end of this March.
On the other hand, its DTH service, launched in Q4 2008, has already secured 47,144 subscribers at the end of the first quarter.
