ANGA CABLE 2009 – COLOGNE. NDS is partnering with publisher Axel Springer to promote personal TV in Germany through advanced DVR and EPG technologies.
Despite digital television having been present in Germany for over ten years, the market is only now getting to grips with the concept of a fully functioned electronic programme guide.
“The advanced TV technologies of today, particularly the DVR and EPG, have really revolutionised how people think about television,” commented Yves Padrines, vice president, business development at NDS and general manager NDS GmbH. “The freedom to choose from a wide range of content, and equally the choice as to how, when and where that content is viewed, fundamentally changes the entire paradigm of watching TV.”
Between them NDS and Axel Springer are demonstrating addressable TV advertising technologies, advanced electronic programme guides, measurement tools and personalisation capabilities, the latter through meta data provided by Springer.
