The Spanish retail chain El Corte Ingles will distribute the Eutelsat Tooway satellite broadband service, the satellite operator announced.
The distribution agreement requires El Corte Ingles to commercialise Tooway through its own distribution network, which offers customers installation and maintenance services.
Tooway will be Spain’s first satellite broadband Internet service that can offer speeds of 2 Mbps on the downlink and 384 kbps on the uplink at prices comparable to ADSL.
Tooway uses Ka-band capacity on Eutelsat’s Hot Bird 6 satellite at 13 degrees East.
