The satellite receiver manufacturers Strong and Sagem have become the first to announce shipments of their ‘Canal Ready’ boxes for the French and Polish markets.
String said its models SRT6410, SRT6420 and the Tekcomm TCT1400 are the first to comply. The French manufacturer Sagem will also launch three products, the SD receiver ISD74, the HD receiver ISD91HD, along with the HD receiver with PVR DTR 94160S HD.
As reported by Broadband TV News the Canal approved DTH receivers will comply with the CI Plus standard.
The Canal Group is the first DTH platform to officially back CI Plus. In The Netherlands, Ziggo, the largest cable operator, has also committed to CI Plus.
