Italian public broadcaster RAI has begun live streaming of another two of its TV channels via its web portal www.rai.tv.
Rai 4 was launched in July 2008 on digital terrestrial and satellite with a schedule targetting a younger audience. It includes popular US series Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, Brothers and Sisters, Alias and Dead Zone; movies, cartoons, music and reality programs. Prime time is reserved for art house films, followed by a different TV series every night.
Rai Gulp, for its part, is an interactive channel launched in June 2007 and aimed at children up to 12 years old.
Currently, RAI offers live streaming (using Microsoft Silverlight technology) of its three national channels Rai Uno, Rai Due, Rai Tre and Raisport, as well as another 16 thematic channels.
The service is geographically restricted to Italy.
