Croatia awards DTT licence

Croatia’s Agency for Electronic Communications (HAKOM) has announced the results of its DTT tender.

According to mPortal, the 10-year licence to operate two national multiplexes (A and B) has been awarded to the national transmission company OiV, which beat off a rival bid for from Hrvatske Telekom (HT).

Croatia is set to complete the transition to digital broadcasting on January 1, 2011.

One of HAKOM’s next actions will be to announce a competition for the channels to be carried on Multiplex B.
