Romania changes DTT rules

Romania has adopted a number of amendments to its Broadcast Law.

According to Media Expres, they were passed by the Senate’s Cultural Commission and include the imposition of fines on TV stations that broadcast disinformation.

Furthermore, they set a requirement on channels seeking DTT distribution to secure one rather than two licences, as had previously been required, from the National Audiovisual Council (CNA).

Romania’s current Broadcast Law was adopted last year under emergency decree.
