Exporters of telecom equipment to Russia may soon see a change in the levels of tax they are required to pay.
Quoting RBC, Cableman says that duties on electronic components for such equipment may soon be waived, while those for finished goods could rise from the current 0-5% to 5-18%.
Such a move would be designed to help local producers of electronic equipment.
Most major foreign companies, including Siemens, Huawei and Nortel, have already secured local status by entering into joint ventures with Russian companies.
