This is the second in a series of highlights of some of the conference themes in the Broadband TV News special ANGA Cable section. “Tools to quadruple the Capacity for target Services without Fibre Construction” is the title of the presentation by Wim Mostert, director of product management optical transport solutions, Aurora Networks.
This paper will explore the new developments in and application of multi-wavelength WDM technology, “O”-band and “C”-band, enabling cable operators to quadruple bandwidth at the node in both the downstream and the upstream paths, and simultaneously providing capacity for high speed data on the same fibre, with no need for expensive fibre construction.
The session will impart to cable operators a fundamental understanding of the latest multi-wavelength technologies. They will be able to evaluate which technology is optimal for their specific needs and application.
