The sale of analogue TV frequencies to mobile operators could earn the EU as much as €150-200 billion.
The figure was given by Viviane Reding, the European Commissioner for Information Society and Media, in a joint press briefing with Dániel Pataki, the chairman of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group and also the head of the Hungarian regulator NHH.
She added that “by the autumn of this year, Europe must have paved the way for an efficient use of the digital dividend, and the European Commission is prepared to make all the necessary recommendations for this.”
