Western Europe ended 2008 with 10,388,000 IPTV subscribers, or 47.4% more than 12 months earlier, and remains by far the world’s largest IPTV market.
IPTV take-up in Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East meanwhile grew by 45% in 2008, according to research by Point Topic on behalf of the Broadband Forum.
France was the largest IPTV market in Western Europe, accounting for over half of the 10.2 million subscribers. The global IPTV subscriber total reached 21.7 million, which was 63% more than in 2007.
