David Docherty has been appointed as chairman of the Digital TV Group, replacing Professor David Youlton who is stepping down after ten years in the post.
Docherty is currently chairman of receiver manufacturer IP vision and chief executive of the council for industry and higher education. He is a former deputy director of Television at the BBC and was the corporation’s first director of new media. After leaving the BBC he became CEO of YooMedia and was head of broadband for the former UK cablenet Telewest.
A published author, Docherty has also written a number of environmental thrillers.
