The Dutch cable operator Ziggo, the country’s largest MSO with over 3.2 million connected homes, is adjusting its basic analogue offer to 30 channels. As a result, TV5Monde, Arte, TRT International and the preview channel Etalagekanaal will be moved to digital only.
The cable operator offers basic digital at no additional costs to all analogue subscribers. The move should make more capacity available for digital channels, as well as additional HD channels and interactive TV services including VOD.
Ziggo now has 1.1 million digital homes. The operator plans to introduce its interactive and VOD services across all its networks before the summer.
