The sale of the incumbent Bulgarian telco’s transmission company NURTS to Austria’s ORS has run into difficulties.
Novinite reports that the deal, announced last December and believed to be worth €80 million, has been postponed by the incumbent BTC.
This follows an announcement by the regulatory body CRC saying that it needed four more months before it could approve the deal. NURTS operates a national microwave network carrying TV, radio, voice and data transmissions.
It has also been undertaking DTT trials in Sofia since 2006.
ORS is meanwhile majority owned by the Austrian public broadcaster ORF.
