The Swiss pay-TV operator Teleclub has chosen the NDS Videoguard conditional access system and DRM (Digital Rights Management) technology for its cable and IPTV delivered premium services in the German speaking part of the country.
In the coming weeks, the new CA system will be implemented by using simulcrypt during the switchover process. All new set-top boxes from Teleclub will be equipped with Videoguard. Until now, Teleclub used the Nagarvision CA system for its digital platform. Teleclub has been using Nagra encryption since the inception of its analogue service.
Yves Padrines, VP, business development at NDS and general manager NDS GmbH, said in a statement: “We are more than proud to announce that Teleclub, one of Europe’s true pay-TV pioneers, having started operations back in 1982, has chosen to entrust VideoGuard CA to secure its premium pay-TV programming and protect its service revenues.”
