Philips adds Net TV to its top models
The Dutch consumer electronics manufacturer Philips will add its proprietary Net TV technology to the top models in its flat screen LCD range this April. This will allow viewers to directly access web based video content on their TV screen via a dedicated Philips portal.
Telenet racks up 609,000 digital TV homes
The Belgian operator Telenet ended 2008 with 609,000 digital TV homes, The total number of its cable TV homes, both analogue and digital, climbed to 2,402,000 thanks to the acquisition of the Interkabel networks television business.
Channel 4 and Five vie for final HD slot
Channel 4 has submitted plans to broadcast a high definition version of its Film4 service. The 17-hour channel is looking to share the final terrestrial HD slot with its partner S4C that would contribute a four-hour children’s TV block broadcast in English and Welsh.
